Trip to the Post Office
As part of our Aistear programme we had a great trip to the Post Office. We designed and wrote post cards in class. Then on Tuesday we walked down to the post office, bought stamps and posted our postcards. A special thanks to Debbie and Catherine in Bandon Post Office who were so kind to us and gave us some healthy treats.
10@10 Flash Mob
The whole school had great fun doing their 10@10 Flash Mob for “Operation Transformation”
We celebrated Grandparents Day on Wednesday 31st January. It was a wonderful celebration of love and happiness. Thank you to all those grandparents who were able to visit our school. The children enjoyed hearing about life when their grandparents were growing up. We thought fondly of all our grandparents who couldn’t be with us.
Vex Robotics IQ Challenge
VEX IQ Challenge
5th class girls had a fabulous day in the CIT recently, participating in the VEX IQ Robotics Challenge.
In preparation for the day the children designed and built their own robot. They then prepared for the three challenges! For the first of these challenges the children had to drive & control the robot. For the second challenge they had to work with another team & their robot, to score as many points as possible. For the third challenge they had to program the robot to work autonomously!
All of the children participated so well and they really did their teachers and our school proud.
It was a great day and a fabulous learning experience for all involved
